Licks & Brains are a Dutch 18 piece Soul/Funk/Jazz big band directed by Rolf Delfos, recording artist of over 100 records and one of the leading alto-players in the Netherlands. Licks & Brains performs with top-artists from the Dutch Jazz/Funk scene. Licks & Brains' most recent project is Electric Minds, featuring Eric Vloeimans. The album is produced by Edison winner Bart Wirtz and Oscar de Jong of EDM act Kraak & Smaak, who together have created an organic blend of horns, electronic grooves and the adventurous playing of Vloeimans. Licks & Brains and Eric Vloeimans have been touring intensively with this project in 2022. In 2023 a collaboration with rap collective Vlijmscherp was released. In 2024 Licks & Brains releases the EP Embrace the New, together with singer Ntjam Rosie. Together they will tour the Dutch stages.
