There are DJs, and then there’s SPFDJ. With an inimitable style, fearless attitude and magnetic energy, the Amsterdam-based Swedish artist has grown from the grassroots of London and Berlin to a globally recognised trailblazer. Balancing the badass and the vulnerable in what she calls Tendercore, she embodies a new dichotomy in electronic music. 2025 sees the release of her debut EP Heel Thyself on her label Intrepid Skin. Across five bold, club-ready tracks, the record reflects her journey through creative overthinking and self-healing, while calling on women and queers to “boot up for battle” against oppressive structures. That same year, she also launched her worldwide event series Motherlode, curating lineups on her own terms with the same uncompromising spirit that defines her career. Known for weaving Latincore, hardgroove, UK hard house, trance and beyond into unruly, genre-fluid sets, SPFDJ is a resident at Berlin’s Herrensauna, where her Boiler Room set became an enduring marker of sweat-soaked hedonism. Through Intrepid Skin she has supported fearless producers including VTSS, Nene H, MarcelDune and Valerie Ace, while radio residencies on NTS and Rinse FM, plus a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, underline her curational edge. From Santiago’s Fiesta Dame to Seoul’s FAUST, and festivals from Glastonbury to Dekmantel and Primavera Sound, SPFDJ stands as one of electronic music’s most impactful and uncompromising voices.
