A high-energy, raw experimental hip hop artist.
Not many rappers have performed at enormous venues, punk rock dive bars, and Marxist book stores - introducing: Ghais Guevara. Born and raised in North Philly amidst both guns and gang avoidance tactics, nurtured and educated using generational radical Black leftist thought, Ghais Guevara revels in the juxtapositions and narrative conflicts of his life with standout projects such as There Will Be No Super-Slave and Goyard Ibn Said . Both of which have received critical and cultural recognition from the likes of Vice, NPR, The Needle Drop and beyond for their witty and compelling lyrical navigations soundtracked by this one-man band’s beatmaking ability. "The Other 2/5ths or: The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Trench Baby", a sequel to the 2025 LP "Goyard Ibn Said", is the latest conceptual offering from the firebrand turned underground myth. A collection of retellings and accounts that depict the unraveling of what we know as "Full Goyard" and the repressive conditions that coerces us towards this path.
Ghais Guevara creates experimental and hardcore hip hop, known for his witty, politically charged lyrics and DIY beatmaking, as heard on Fat Possum Records.
