Cyanna (siāna) was an alternative pop/rock band from Athens, Greece formed in 1999. Cyanna was very active in the greek alternative scene from 2002 to 2013. The band was known for intense live shows and a variety of music styles, crossing over the boundaries of the greek underground into and out of the mainstream realm. They shared the stage with international acts like Massive Attack (2008), MGMT (2009), The Stranglers (2009), Fischerspooner (2009), IAMX (2010), Gorillaz Soundsystem (2010), Stereo MC's (2011) and did an extensive tour in Greece in 2011. The band also appeared in a few european festivals (Germany, Switzerland and Bulgaria). Their biggest commercial hit came in 2008 with Shine, the second single from Just A Crash, that became the Vodafone campaign song in Greece for two years (2009 - 2011), while their most critically acclaimed release would be their last, The Undressed EP Plus (2012), a self funded record, that included I Am Cannibal. Founders Spyreas and Nick Sid went on to form Cyanna Mercury in 2014. Starting with Revisited by Som Tawyer (2025), Spyreas (currently releasing music as Iam Nothe) is planning to release a series of singles and EPs of previously unreleased, deleted and/or unofficial recordings by the band's vaults.
