An underground jazz artist.
New York-based violinist and performer Alyssa Chetrick draws from an extensive classical and jazz background. At 19, she made her off-Broadway debut in Tokyo as an ensemble cast member (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812). Here, she discovered jazz and improvisation through instrumentalists whom she played with backstage. Her debut single reflects on the environmental consequences of ‘business and usual,' while striving to inspire change within a collapsing playing field.
She plays contemporary jazz and jazz fusion, blending classical violin with improvisation, as heard on her EP "What Blooms in the Dark".
