Adam Rubenstein

Adam Rubenstein is best known as the guitarist and principal songwriter for midwestern emo-core pioneers Split Lip, who later became the more roots-tinged indie band Chamberlain. He's also been a member of various side projects including Dear Lions and Bad Moon Music. Rubenstein's solo debut entitled Aftershock was released by Chamberlain's former label Doghouse Records (Say Anything, The All-American Rejects) under the moniker Adam Dove. He has since released two solo albums under his real name -- Excavator in 2013 and Nightly Waves in 2015, both released on Germany's Arctic Rodeo Recordings (Jawbox, Walter Schreifels). His upcoming 2026 album Firebreak releases 8/14 on Spartan Records (Shiner, Rocky Votolato). His albums can be described as rooted in Americana, but that toe the line between sophisticated Pop and melancholic Singer-songwriter. Rubenstein is also a film composer, having penned scores for acclaimed documentaries "Night School," "9-Man," "Kid Danny," "By Sidney Lumet," and "Medora," as well as various commercial music projects and films currently in production.
