Wrest
Poetic lyricism and soaring guitars meet in heartfelt Edinburgh indie rock. Since the launch of debut album ‘Coward of Us All’ in 2019, wrest have been gaining momentum across the UK and Europe, winning the plaudits of critics and the hearts of fans across the continent. Comparisons to the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Biffy Clyro, The National and Idlewild soon followed, with the band quickly becoming Scotland’s best-kept secret in indie rock circles. 2022’s follow up album, End All The Days saw wrest play sold out shows at St Luke’s in Glasgow and Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh, capping off a run of over 60 headline gigs in the year - including sold out debut headlines in Hamburg and Berlin. With a full list of shows across multiple countries in 2023, including biggest ever sold out shows at The Garage in Glasgow and The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh, alongside debuts on the festival circuit in Germany and beyond, wrest stand poised for bigger things. wrest are Stewart Douglas (vocals), Stephen Whipp (guitar), Craig Robertson (bass) and Jonny Tait (drums).
