HIGH HØØPS
HIGH HØØPS is the sunset escape project of left handed Aquarian and Royal Oak resident Jordan Arts. Starting off his live music career in royal company when he opened for Lorde, heʼs since shared stages with iconic producers Kaytranada, MNDSGN, Harvey Sutherland and Slow Magic, as well as featuring on triple J heavy rotator ‘One Hundredʼ with Roland Tings (Australia), the 10 million streamed Spotify smash ‘Comfortableʼ with Moods (Netherlands), and most recently crooning on collaborations with local hip-hop heavyweights SWIDT and High Beams (NZ), all while crafting out psych-pop tunes with the critically acclaimed five-piece Auckland music collective, LEISURE. In late 2018, the vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist released his full length album Seasons On Planet Earth (Sony Music/A Label Called Success), bursting with colourful juxtapositions of blue-eyed soul, electronica, R&B and house music, evading genres and creating his own brand of self-assured dance music production. "This project only ever existed as a personal escape from the real world and is a continuous venture to keep challenging my creative flow and keep things fresh. A lot of the work happens after midnight in the quiet hours, if I canʼt set a deep mood to it or dance to it myself then itʼll never see the light of day” HØØPS admits.
