AzChike, a South Central Los Angeles native, is a key figure in the new wave of West Coast hip-hop. Known for his aggressive delivery, distinctive growls, and unapologetic rhymes, he stands out in a region rich with storytelling and unique flows. Chike gained attention in 2017 with his breakout single, "Burn Rubber Again," which has since earned over 90 million streams. His debut album My World (2018) featured the hit "Licked Up," propelling him to sign with Asylum Records/Atlantic and tour with Shoreline Mafia. Chike's career flourished with tours alongside Shoreline Mafia, performances at Rolling Loud, and collaborations with major West Coast artists like Schoolboy Q, Too $hort, Kamaiyah, and Mike Sherm. He has also worked with artists outside of the West Coast, including Sada Baby, King Combs, and Shordie Shordie. 2024 has been a pivotal year for Chike. He was featured on Schoolboy Q’s Blue Lips, which earned critical acclaim, including a rave review from Pitchfork. Chike also performed at Kendrick Lamar's sold-out Juneteenth show, breaking Amazon Music's live-streaming records. In November, he surprised fans with a feature on Kendrick Lamar’s GNX album, marking another major milestone in his career. With a steady stream of hits and high-profile collaborations, AzChike continues to make his mark on the hip-hop landscape.
