Francesco Corti was born in Arezzo, Italy, in a musical family in 1984. He studied in Perugia, Geneva and Amsterdam. He was awarded at the International "Johann Sebastian Bach" Competition in Leipzig (2006) and at the Bruges Harpsichord Competition (2007). As a soloist, he has appeared in recitals and concerts all over Europe, in the USA and Canada, in Latin America, in Asia and in New Zealand. He’s a member of Les Musiciens du Louvre, Zefiro, the Bach Collegium Japan, Les Talens Lyriques. Principal guest conductor of Pomo d’Oro since 2018. With this ensemble he has toured and recorded extensively (among other projects, European tours of Handel’s Orlando and Radamisto, and a staged production of Monteverdi’s Combattimento). He has been invited to lead Les Musiciens du Louvre, B’Rock, the Nederlandse Bachvereniging and Holland Baroque. In 2021 he has conducted a new production of Handel’s Agrippina at the Royal Theater in Drottningholm (Stockholm, Sweden). Lastest solo recordings include Bach’s Harpsichord Concerto (with Pomo d’Oro), Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and “Bach, Little Books”, a bachian album awarded a Diapason d’or and an Editor’s Choice (Gramophone). Soon to be published Händel’s Apollo e Dafne and the 8 “Great” Suites for harpsichord. Since September 2016, he is professor of harpsichord at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
