"I begin playing purely by feeling and allow my intuition to guide me from the first notes on the piano, naturally leading to the unfolding of a musical piece.” Ron Adelaar doesn’t sit at the piano to perform — he sits down to listen. To what he feels, to what life brings, and to what wants to be played in that moment. His music is born from improvisation. No fixed plan, no predefined structure — just intuition guiding the first notes, and the rest unfolding naturally. This way of making music began early: at thirteen, Ron already played organ and piano in the churches of his hometown Amersfoort. Since then, improvisation has remained his most honest form of expression. Born in 1960, Ron translates personal experiences into music — relationships, loss, hope, silence, and the quiet beauty of nature. Walking the Camino de Santiago became a natural extension of this philosophy: step by step, listening inward, allowing the journey to unfold without knowing exactly where the next moment would lead. That same mindset lives in his music. Many of his pieces are recorded in a single take, preserving the moment exactly as it was. His piano music offers space: for reflection, calm, meditation, and simply being present.
