THE HOODOO MEN
An underground, nostalgic blues rock artist.
The Trio of Gerry Höller, Peter Samek, and Wolfgang Leinweber presents authentic Chicago Blues as it was performed in the 1950s on the famous Maxwell Street in the heart of Chicago. With a reduced lineup that focuses on the essence of the blues, the trio offers a unique and authentic experience for the audience. Peter Samek, the singer and multi-instrumentalist, has over 40 years of experience in the blues genre and has released recordings both as a solo artist (Wolf Records) and with the Backdoor Blues Band. Guitarist Gerry Höller brings his experience in jazz and has worked on numerous projects with renowned musicians in his career and runs his own music school (Tonwerk). Wolfgang Leinweber plays the washboard and spoons and has been active as a drummer since the 80s, including being a co-founder of the Austrian New Wave band Dämmerattacke and Zip Guns. The trio has performed numerous concerts in the last three years, including the Blues Spring Festival, the Bluesfest St. Pölten, and a German tour. They love performing in small clubs and cafes and have a close connection with their audience. Their first recording "Riding High" was recorded live and released without overdubs.
