Smith & Liddle from the North of England breathe new life into the sounds of classic music eras heard in their debut offerings, ‘Piece Of You’ and ‘Minute Ago’ from their upcoming debut album, ‘Songs For The Desert’. Smith & Liddle’s music is a glimpse into the sounds of Laurel Canyon and echoes the ways in which musicians of the 60s & 70s started to change direction as the years progressed. Reflecting the duos wide music tastes and even wider record collection, the music you can expect from their own output weaves between Soft Rock, West Coast soul and 60s beat, offering an ultimately wide appealing and joyful collection of songs and sounds to be enjoyed. Following years of swapping records and building a transcendent musical connection, the duo (comprised of Elizabeth Liddle & Billy Smith) have crafted a collection of songs that echo the spirit of the 1970s beautifully due for release late 2025. Raised on the sounds of Laurel Canyon and the British Invasion, (Billy) Smith & (Elizabeth) Liddle grew up 25 miles away from each other in small towns but only met when Billy was on the lookout for a vocalist. The chemistry between the pair was instant, and over time their intertwined musical sensibilities evolved into something unique. With journals filled with lyrics and a treasure trove of musical ideas bubbling, the pair finally entered the studio to create their homage to soft rock, culminating in the recordings that form their debut record.
