Born in South Africa, based in the Netherlands, and shaped by time spent in the U.S. and Spain, Kartwheel has truly cartwheeled around the world - collecting stories, sounds, and a deep appreciation for the power of music along the way. Though she's a relatively new face behind the decks, Kartwheel is no newcomer to the music scene. While she initially regretted not learning to play an instrument growing up, her love for the industry led her to create The Karismatik - a vibrant and multifaceted platform encompassing a music podcast series, bookings agency, event organization, and an upcoming record label - all rooted in a passion for music’s ability to connect people across backgrounds and borders. Kartwheel’s sound is soulful and groove-driven, blending melodic house and techno with funky and bluesy elements. Her sets carry a hint of nostalgia, moving fluidly from ethereal and organic to deep and dirty - always with a progressive, infectious energy.
