SHOOM RELEASES RABID RACCOON Release of single JunkFunk! / Baasje’s Mood on May 16 After a fruitful first collaboration between shoom and Casper van der Lans resulting in the single Spronk / De Slag om Vinkhuizen, a sequel was unavoidable. Though it’s often unwise to compare sequel to original, here it’s simply impossible. Armed with string ensemble, percussion and synths, shoom’s new tracks differ radically from its predecessors. Think Talking Heads, Chemical Brothers and Tania Maria. JunkFunk! / Baasje’s Mood is a rabid raccoon, mouth foaming, chasing a final, heavenly high. The single JunkFunk! / Baasje’s Mood is set for release on May 16. Prior. The band will present their release at Jazz in Duketown on June 6, V11 Rotterdam and VERA Groningen on June 13 and 14. Set loose that raccoon. shoom are Jelte Rienstra (guitar, keyboard), Lars Buisman (saxophone, flute), Lukas Petzinger (bass), Matthijs van den Brink (guitar) and Tim Hoekstra (drums).
