Meth Math
A homegrown, underground neoperreo artist.
Led by vocalist Ángel Ballesteros and backed by producers error.error (Efrén Coronado) and Bonsai Babies (To Robles), Meth Math, grew up in the manufacturing city of Hermosillo, Sonora, 1200 miles northwest of Mexico City. The band developed partially while Angel lived in Mexico City, and evolved during covid when but Ballesteros had returned home. Their 2020 EP, Pompi, bedded down the thriving energy present in CDMX’s neo-perrero scene, and mortal, their follow up EP, had tracks co-produced by Sega Bodega. Their debut LP, Chupetones, album was co-produced by the band and Miami club legend Nick León (Rosalia, Isabella Lovestory). The nine songs that make up this collection are at once odes to heartbreak and invitations to the deep darkness of a post-apocalyptic club.
