Cinema Paradiso Project

CINEMA PARADISO PROJECT is a music ensemble, which began to take shape several years ago when “Tema d’amore” from the soundtrack of “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” led to the ignition of the band’s journey and the formation of an exciting musical landscape that resonate the “cinematic” experiences of the band. Cinema Paradiso Project has its roots in the music of renowned Greek composers while embracing worldwide music spanning styles such as Pop, Broadway, Latin, Soul and Rock. It is Christmas 2021 and we have just made our 1st digital release, a cover of a song used by Pedro Almodovar in his movie "Tie me up! Tie me down!" (Atame!), to create a powerful and moving scene. Our memories were awakened when the same song became such an inspiration during the pandemic due to its soulful lyrics and upbeat tempo. To express our own feelings we added some original Greek lyrics written by Stratos Gerakakis, whose words of strength, courage and hope captured our spirit. Resistiré in Spanish mean "I will resist". We shout "Krata Gera", in other words "hold strong"! Among friends who participated in this, there are two beloved artists that were kind enough to gracefully embrace our effort and sing with us: Argyro Kaparou and Efstathia !! Cinema Paradiso Project is a 10-member band with a lead singer, piano, accordion, violin, cello, contrabass (Thanos Polymeneas-Liontiris), classic guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar and percussion (Iakovos Pavlopoulos). https://cinemaparadiso.gr
