Club Kuru
A homegrown neo-psychedelic artist.
Bristol-born and now based in South East London, Laurie Erskine leads this psych rock project that draws from an eclectic mix of influences, including jazz, classical, religious music, and classic psych rock of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Under Laurie’s guidance, the band received widespread acclaim with their first two albums, released in 2018 and 2019. Their accomplishments include spots on the 6Music playlist, a sync on HBO's High Maintenance, and a tour alongside Jungle. After a five-year hiatus, Laurie has honed his engineering skills, reconnected with his jazz roots, and reassembled Club Kuru with a new lineup. This iteration of the band blends the pop-infused psychedelia of their earlier work with a richer, more soulful sound. Constantly evolving, the rejuvenated Club Kuru now presents their latest album, 'Before the World,' which explores the challenges of growing up and navigating personal transitions.
