Federico Guglielmo
A nostalgic, polished baroque artist.
Federico Guglielmo is an Italian violinist and conductor who specializes in historically informed performances of Baroque and Classical music. He began his studies with his father, and graduated from the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice, after studying with Giuliano Carmignola. He continued his studies with Salvatore Accardo at the Stauffer Academy in Cremona, and attended the violin master classes of Stefan Gheorghiu, Vladimir Spivakov, and Isaac Stern, as well as the conducting courses of Gianluigi Gelmetti. Guglielmo won the first Vittorio Gui International Competition at 22, and became the youngest lecturer at an Italian conservatory. He has lectured in Foggia and Florence, and is a professor at the Francesco Venezze Conservatory in Rovigo, where he teaches violin and Baroque violin. Guglielmo has appeared as a soloist with the Academy of Ancient Music, the Handel & Haydn Society, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, and his own period ensemble, L'Arte dell'Arco. He has recorded for Brilliant Classics and CPO.
