The Walking Who
A nostalgic neo-psychedelic artist.
The Walking Who is an Australian psych project now based in Prague, recording out of Studio Faust Records and existing somewhere between alt rock, art film, and experimental pop. Drawing from influences ranging from Townes Van Zandt and early Pink Floyd to 2010s Australian psych rock, the sound blends lo-fi nostalgia with immersive, cinematic textures. The result is music that feels both familiar and disorienting, never quite revealing its decade: nostalgic, atmospheric, and slightly out of line, moving between surf-tinged 60's echoes, fuzzy desert rock, and warped Americana. Led by Rohin Brown, co-writer of Dope Lemon’s Honey Bones (approaching half a billion streams) and recipient of three awards at the 2022 Cannes World Film Festival, the project reflects a deeply visual and multidisciplinary approach. Their latest release, “Long Way Back” was recorded three stories beneath Prague in a converted WWII army base using rare vintage Eastern European equipment, blending classic country songwriting with psychedelic folk textures. With a third album due in Summer 2026 coupled with plans to tour for the first time in five years, The Walking Who enters an exciting new chapter.
