Maiorano delivers a distinctive blend of rootsy, sun-drenched pop, layered with touches of soul, funk, and groovy nostalgia. Fronted by Italian-born singer and guitarist Alex Maiorano, the band includes lifelong friends Alessio D’Alessandro on drums and Nicola Battistelli on saxophone and keyboards, with Argentinian musicians Mauro Martinez (bass/guitar) and Emiliano Salvatore (guitar) completing the lineup. The band’s sound is led by Alex’s warm, laid-back vocals, alongside reverb-soaked clean guitars, a tight rhythm section, and subtle, emotional sax lines. Based in Berlin, the band’s roots stretch back to small towns in Italy, where their love for music was born in their early, rebellious years. Since moving to Berlin, they have built a strong reputation in the city’s music scene and toured selectively across Europe, sharing the road with Say She She and Bobby Oroza, and supporting numerous international acts. Their second album, Luna Nova, marked a shift in direction, exploring new sonic textures with synths and fresh melodic ideas as Alex evolved his songwriting. Their third album, Café Dreams, released on Irma Records, confirmed Maiorano’s signature sound with sun-drenched grooves, soulful melodies, and refined production.
