Dorothy Moore

Tracks10

Dorothy Moore had two huge hits in 1976 for Malaco with "Misty Blue" and "Funny How Time Slips Away." "Misty Blue" was a number two R&B and number three pop single and a sizzling piece of heartache soul, while "Funny How Time Slips Away" wasn't as definitive a soul recasting of Willie Nelson's composition as Joe Hinton's version, but it did better on the charts, reaching number seven R&B. Moore continued on Malaco through the '80s, landing one more Top Ten R&B hit in 1977 with "I Believe You." She signed with the reactivated Volt label in the late '80s and recorded two LPs for them, Time Out for Me and Winner, before returning to Malaco for the rest of her '90s work. Farish Street released her holiday album, Please Come Home for Christmas, in 2002. ~ Ron Wynn, Rovi
