Taking time off from his backing keyboard duties in Firewater, Paul Wallfisch spent part of 1996 focusing on a solo project. With the accompaniment of multi-instrumentalist Le Baron and drummer Ivan Knight, Wallfisch took on the vocal and keyboard duties to record his first album I Am Yours. Released in 1996 through Acetate Records, Wallfisch's debut resulted in the critical comparison of Nick Cave and Tom Waits thanks to Le Baron cello, guitar and bass responsibilities as well as I Am Yours all around brooding presence. ~ Mike DaRonco, Rovi
