Signal

A nostalgic aor artist.

Tracks10

This group was formed in 1988 by ex-King Kobra frontman Mark Free, together with one time Alice Cooper rhythm section, Eric Scott (bass/keyboards) and Jan Uvena (drums), with Danny Jacobs (guitar) completing the line-up. Their only album, the Kevin Elson-produced Loud And Clear, was released in the USA in 1989 on EMI Records. The commercial, melodic style of rock was aimed specifically at the American market, and highlighted the undoubted talents of Free to full effect, especially on tracks such as ‘Liar’ and ‘My Mistake’ which featured a duet with Mr. Big’s Eric Martin. The more sensitive side to Free is exhibited on ‘This Love, This Time’, a ballad in the mould of classic Foreigner. The album was critically well received, but despite impressive sales on import in the UK and modest sales in the USA, EMI dropped the band soon after its release. Mark Free has recently resurfaced working alongside former Stone Fury and World Trade guitarist Bruce Gowdy in Unruly Child.
