Makhosazana Masango (“Azana”) is a South African singer, songwriter and performancer born September 13, 2000 and raised in Chesterville, KwaZulu Natal expressing an interest in music from an early age.Her vocal talent had been recognized by Sun-El Musician and the pair went on to release an explosive single tilted “Uhuru”. Her singing style is a mixture of jazz, African melodies and Western popular music influenced by remarkable musicians namely Beyonce, Camagwini, Simphiwe Dana, Letta Mbulu, Simmy, Nina Simone and Erykah Badu. Azana released her first solo album “Ingoma” in 2020 which spawned two singles: “Your Love” and “Ngize Ngifike” fared well both critically and commercially. Ingoma is a wave of neo-soul, afro-pop and house music. Azana’s is a voice that echoes through the lives of African women of all forms and women feel her presence in their lives. Her eccentric style nullifies prejudice standards of beauty. Proudly proclaiming “I Am Queen”, Azana’s reaches are intangible and unending.
