Demi Spriggs
An underground folk artist.
Demi Spriggs lives between London and Athens. Her release, a boy called ear, tells new folk stories and feminist readings of classic folk tales. She plays with both traditional and experimental modalities shifting between the melancholy, the eery, the uncanny, and tales for and of the weary. Her second project, Night Folkways, is self-published as a shoegaze and freak compilation of new folk songs. The long b-side of a boy called ear, escalator jazz, builds a bridge between these two projects. The EP was recorded in Athens at Electricity Sound Studio. Shows in Athens and London are planned for winter 2023-2024. A boy called ear is Demi Spriggs’ first release on Team Love.
