An underground chanson artist.
Rotatonics ….describe their style as „music cinematique“, creating deep emotion framed by sound and dialogue Their shared passion for the Italian Composer Nino Rota, mainly known for his film scores for Fellini, Coppola, Visconti and others, brought them together. Their first album, the Lost Key, which was nominated for the „Jahrespreis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik“ is structured almost like a film score, combining music, atmospheric sounds and spoken sequences. Their Instrumentarium is rather special: Beside piano, organ and Electric Guitar they use instruments like Lapsteel-Guitar, Harmonika and Musical saw to create their sonic pictures.
Rotatonics creates 'music cinematique' blending film scores, chanson, and tango with unique instruments like the musical saw and lapsteel.
Rotatonics is a duo composed of Marie-Elsa Drelon and Carsten Wegener.
