Valer Sabadus
A polished opera artist.
Born in Romania, Valer Barna-Sabadus is a German counter tenor. After taking up the violin and the piano in his youth, Sabadus began voice studies when he was 17. He attended the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich, where he studied with Gabriele Fuchs. He appeared with the Baroque ensemble Capella Incognita in 2007, performing in Handel's Rinaldo, and followed that with roles in Bernabei's Diana Amante at the Barocknacht Olching, and Purcell's The Fairy Queen with the Chamber Orchestra of Lower Bavaria. Sabadus has also sung in concert, appearing in performances of Orff's Carmina Burana and Helmschrott's Omnia. Sabadus has sung music by Dowland, Pergolesi, Caldara, Gluck, Hasse, and Mozart, and recorded for Oehms Classics and Sony Classical.
