John Carrie

John Carrie is a Tipperary born musician who has spent most of his musical career playing abroad. Based in Holland he has released two albums to much critical acclaim there with backing band Moor Green. Their debut album ‘Folk is not happy’ (2007 PIAS), considered by Holland’s leading music magazine OOR as ‘a jewel of an album’. It described John as an artist with ‘natural raw talent’. The subsequent release ‘Clearing Air’ (2010 pias) was plauded as ‘dark, raw and brilliant’ (OOR). John has also released one solo album 'Shy Away' in 2012 and collaborated with brother Hinterbear on an album 'Away with Birds' in 2019. A new record is in the making and should come above water in 2024. John has toured through France with Irish legends The Cranberries, toured through Holland with Xavier Rudd and supported artists such as Scott Matthews, Kings of Leon and Blaudzun. The music evolves of eclectic tastes and influences with comparisons to artists like The Veils. Neil Young , Pink Floyd and John Carrie.
