Dotan

Dotan: a songwriter with humble beginnings, he cut his musical teeth playing bars and living room shows to fund and promote his debut album 7 Layers. This record amassed international success spanning Europe and North America. After a hiatus, eager to get into the studio and begin writing his next record, Dotan took time to travel and spend time with loved ones, to find the creative spark that would usher him into his next musical era. Armed with his acoustic guitar, Dotan began writing for his upcoming album aiming to tell the stories closest to his heart. In contrast to his earlier, darker work, his newest collection of songs is inspired by light, the opposite of darkness. He found beauty in the rough edges of production and raw honesty in lyrics. Diamonds In My Chest, marks the return to his roots with a strong folk sound composed with his acoustic guitar in hand. The anthem was created on a road trip through the California desert and Dotan describes the song as, “a journey to discover your true self.” His main goal, sonically, was to keep the music organic by using real instruments, played by real people and to avoid programmed sound. “I wanted to hear the guitar squeaks and the imperfections in the sound, to make it feel raw.”
