Dimitris Maramis
A homegrown, polished classical artist.
Dimitris Maramis is an Athens-based composer and pianist. He studied piano and composition at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in the UK. He has composed the musicals Erotokritos (Greek National Opera in 2017), The Haunted (Megaron of Music of Athens in 2019), the folk opera Kapetan Michalis based on the same title fiction by Nikos Kazantzakis (Region of Crete in 2021) and the opera Eleftherios Venizelos (Cultural Centre of Heraklion in Crete in 2023). Dimitris has composed also music for theatre, cinema, television, orchestra, chamber music, solo instruments and songs. Moreover, he has released seven cd-albums and he has presented his music in various countries: U.S.A., United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg. He is the artistic director of the Delphi Music Festival 2018-2023.
