From a young age, Charlie P is immersed in reggae, growing up in a family deeply passionate about sound system culture in Southend-on-Sea. Encouraged by his mother, he steps on stage at just eight, performing with the Goldmaster Allstars and sharing the stage with reggae legends like Michael Prophet. A pivotal moment in his life came when he connected with Mungo's Hi Fi and O.B.F. These partnerships propelled Charlie into the heart of the international sound system scene, solidifying his status as a top MC. His collaboration with O.B.F on Sixteen Tons of Pressure became a landmark hit, resonating globally and marking his rise as the Dub Controler. Now, with over a decade in the scene, Charlie reconnects with his foundations on his latest project. Collaborating with Rico O.B.F, and backed by a full live band, Charlie delivers his debut solo album Roots.
