Marley Carroll’s auspicious start as a classically trained percussionist and award-winning turntablist propelled him into the limelight at an early age. Carroll’s signature style of exquisitely-detailed atmospheric dance music is adored by fans for its powerful emotional resonance and highly rated by peers who cite him as an abiding influence, evoking comparisons to genre luminaries like Four Tet and Caribou. Onstage, he delivers a raw and improvisatory adaptation of his records to spellbound audiences, combining sampling, drum pads and live looping with expressive and unconventional turntable skills. He has shared stages with Floating Points, Bonobo and DJ Shadow and has notched acclaimed appearances at iconic music festivals like Coachella and LiB. His 2022 EP, Voices, was inspired by the heartache of missing raving during lockdown and combined the driving intensity of the dance floor with the luminous nostalgia of late-night afters. Voices captured the attention of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, Radio Ibiza, KCRW and KEXP and became a dance floor staple and essential listening for fans of artists like DJ Seinfeld and Godford. This year, he returns with the One More Year EP on Anjunadeep’s brand new Explorations imprint. Over the course of three lean, expertly-crafted UKG cuts brimming with evocative vocals and lush pads, Carroll explores a spectrum of emotions: pain and regret on the title cut, longing and love on “Falling,” and joy and gratitude on “Dearly Beloved.”
