Talisman

MARCEL JACOB started his musical career together with YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and in a band called FORCE; (later become EUROPE). Marcel co-wrote "The King Will Return" and "Scream Of Anger" with JOEY TEMPEST, the later which the band perform live still today. Marcel recorded the album "MARCHING OUT" with Yngwie and remained for 2 world tours from 1984-86. In ’86 Marcel headed back to Sweden to find out that the guitarist JOHN NORUM left Europe and was looking for members to complete his solo band. Marcel joined and started writing songs for Norum's first release "TOTAL CONTROL". After a successful album and tour, Marcel begun to write his own material and then met CHRISTER WEDIN, who worked for record label Electra and a record deal was soon in place. JEFF SCOTT SOTO who was with Marcel in Yngwie's band was contacted and the album was recorded and completed. Marcel named the band TALISMAN and the first single "I'LL BE WAITING" became a huge success. Tours and more albums followed. Marcel Jacob passed away July 21, 2009. Way too early, he was a great musician, song writer and extra ordinary talented bass player. 10 years after Marcel's passing the remaining members of Talisman released the single "NEVER DIE(A SONG FOR MARCEL)" . In 2024 the same remaining members released the song "SAVE OUR LOVE" as a tribute to what would have been Marcels 60th birthday and memory to the music they created together. Talisman also performed a tribute show at Sweden Rock Festival 2024.
