Yarden
Yarden’s creative journey is rooted in the innate desire to express himself - no matter what. Whether it was learning how to produce and make music through YouTube videos to overcoming his social anxiety as a teenager to engage in playground rap battles. What defines his artistry more than this desire for freedom of expression however, is the resilience and ingenuity he’s displayed thus far, making a way for himself and for others when there seems to be none. With his breakout single ‘Wetin’ currently sitting at over 35 million streams and growing every day. Yarden means ‘to descend’ in Hebrew, but since the 23-year old Lagosian decided to pursue a career as an artist over a decade ago, it has done anything but decline. He has gone from strength-to-strength since his first professional foray into music in 2020, all the way to his debut EP The One Who Descends (Dec,2023). A five-track offering that not only delves into the Afrobeats that he grew up listening to at family parties but also the R&B, Soul and Rap he absorbed from his time on the internet. Ultimately, Yarden brings to light music that has been a lifetime in the making at the very start of his journey. Placing community, creativity and collaboration at the heart of his journey, Yarden has marked himself as an ascending talent in the exciting dominance of both Nigerian & African music on the world stage.
