Follow The Cipher
Follow the Cipher are a female-fronted Swedish power metal outfit founded in 2014 by guitarist Ken Kängström, who had previously served as the studio guitarist for fellow Falun-based power metallers Sabaton. The group employs a melody-forward blend of fist-pumping, classic hard rock riffing, and contemporary progressive metal, and base their lyrics around a narrative concerning a dystopian, authoritarian future and the rebels who fight back against the tyranny. In addition to Kängström, the group features vocalist Linda Toni Grahn, drummer Karl Löfgren, guitarist Viktor Carlsson, and bass player Jonas Asplind, all of whom appeared on the band's eponymous debut long player, which was released in 2018 by Nuclear Blast. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
