GummiHz
A polished minimal techno artist.
Dubbed “the Andre 3000 of techno” by the legendary Derrick May, Alexandros Tsotsos has carved out his place as GummiHz in the underground house and techno scene. With roots in Thessaloniki, London, and Berlin, Alex has developed a sound that blends deep grooves, intricate rhythms, and a global mix of influences. It's a journey, connecting people from all corners of the world. The name GummiHz is a clever mash-up of the German word *gummi* (rubber) and *hertz* (frequency), reflecting Alex’s focus on the frequencies that hit both body and mind – what he affectionately calls “the rubber bands”. Whether it’s house or techno his tunes are celebrated for their dance-able energy and the deep emotional connection they create. Alex’s rise in the global electronic scene began with early support from dis like Danny Tenaglia, who championed the track "GummiHz - Desire" in his "Futurism" mix on Tommy Boy. Followed by his debut album “Sleepless Nights” (Mobilee / 2010) championed by artists like Derrick May, Sven Väth. Cementing his place as a producer who’s creating complex, deep, and genre-defying music that moves effortlessly between experimental and accessible. Alex is also the founder of the labels, Claap Records and C-EDITS, each reflecting different sides of his musical identity. Claap became a hub for contemporary house, and techno. C-EDITS became a global hit since its debut, a re-edit of Duke’s “So In Love With You”, which was later signed by Sony Music.
