JEMMA

JEMMA was born from a well-known Roman jam session organized by Federico Buccini (band leader). The evenings spent together and the free experimentation have developed a connection and synergy between the musicians that is difficult to overlook. The name JEMMA can be interpreted as one prefers, it can refer to the concept of a 'jam session' as an invitation to let oneself be carried away by the music, as a proper name of a mysterious woman or as a precious stone. There is no right or wrong interpretation. In 2022, they took part in "LAZIOSound Scouting" and were the absolute winners. Thanks to this opportunity, they were able to participate in several international festivals, opening concerts for the likes of Herbie Hancock, Fabrizio Bosso, The Chemical Brothers, Max Gazzè and Stefano Di Battista. Experimentation led them to build sound after sound their first album, which is entitled 'JEMMA' just like the group, wanting to be both a manifesto and a starting point. The album speaks of energy, of the earth, of the sea, of the wind, and it does so through unreleased compositions and popular traditions, spanning different sounds and languages. Their unique style and the union of the different artistic sensibilities of the musicians takes the audience on a journey through world, jazz-rock and fusion sounds ranging from intimism to tribalism, from ambient atmospheres to addictive grooves.
