The Florentinas
Formed in 2019, Northern Irish four piece, The Florentinas comprises Paddy Boyd (vocals), Jacob Kane (bass), Jakob Swann (drums), and Luke Swann (guitar). Described as “an energetic live wire with a pretty cadence”, the Bangor boys quickly garnered attention at home and beyond with their captivating live performances. Not even a pandemic could slow their momentum as they signed a major publishing deal with BMG in 2020. With only four singles under their belt, The Florentinas have already showcased their ability to write hook heavy indie anthems. Debut releases, ‘Sandcastles’ and ‘It’s Not in Vain’ were playlisted on CoolFM and RTE2fm. They continued from strength to strength when ‘Weatherman’ received a play on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Show while its follow up, ‘Miami’ was featured by Edith Bowman on BBC Radio 2. Their continuous hard work has earned them a dedicated fan base and notable support slots with acts like Stereophonics, Kodaline and Nothing But Thieves. In 2022, they rounded off the year by winning the BBC ATL Artist of the Year Award, cementing their status as one of Northern Ireland’s most exciting new bands. After kicking off their 2025 with a European tour supporting Snow Patrol, The Florentinas continue to set the stage for an even bigger future.
