Adam Wilson grew up in a small town outside Chicago, the kind of place where music was less a hobby than an escape hatch. It took him to New York first, then Los Angeles when 2020 hit. The storytelling instinct never left; it just got a better view. His songs sit somewhere between R&B, soul, indie, pop, and hip hop, less because he's chasing a genre and more because none of them alone say what he needs to say. That instinct has carried his music further than most bedroom songwriters ever get: onto The Grammy Awards broadcast, into Bachelor in Paradise, soundtracking Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and dozens of other shows that have quietly turned him into one of the more-synced names you've never quite placed. Lyrical Lemonade and Clash Magazine have both taken notice, and he's shared stages with Polo G and Dej Loaf. With his band behind him, a set that could've been a quiet coffeehouse show turns into something closer to emotional release, the kind of night where the room stops watching and starts feeling it too. His collaboration with KIA won a HIM Award and put his name back in rooms that matter. Now he's finishing what might be his most personal work yet: Down 2 Earth, an EP out September 19, built on the same soul-deep storytelling that got him here in the first place, this time with less to prove and more to say.
