Sem Jansen is an Americana singer and songwriter from the Netherlands. His first album "Uncle Sem" took 5 years to make as the first half was recorded before his transition from female to male and the second half after his transition. This album describes this entire story, from the struggles of coming out to the the response of his grandma who suffered from dementia and his experience of officially becoming "Uncle Sem". Before his solo career started Sem was already the lead vocalist and guitarist for the Leif De Leeuw Band, where he made his debut in 2011. They are still very active and are a classic Jam band with 2 drum kits, tons of guitar solo's and twinleads a hammond organ and bass guitar.
