The band is known for its energetic live performances and original music. According to music magazine OOR The Covenant is: "the last original Dutch Underground band". Facts & milestones - 9 DIY albums released - Support act for: Pearl Jam (2x), Extreme, New Model Army, W.A.S.P., Tragically Hip, Shane McGowan, Bad Seeds - Performances at well-known festivals and events such as: 2 Meter Sessies, Appelpop, Dynamo, Dijkpop and Uitmarkt (main stage) - Numerous performances in pop venues, cafés and on local, regional and national radio and TV History: In 1988, friends Frank and Peter founded The Covenant with the idea of having fun and seeing how long they could keep it up. The band culture was flourishing at that time and they soon performed on stages such as De Melkweg and Paradiso, both as a support act and with their own shows. The debut album was released in 1991, at a time when few bands released CDs. With two support acts for Pearl Jam, performances at AT5 and the legendary Twee Meter Sessions by Jan Douwe Kroeske, the band continued to grow. The Covenant was included in the Dutch Pop Encyclopedia of OOR and played at numerous festivals and venues throughout the country.
