Shinichi Atobe

Shinichi Atobe Electronic artists based in Saitama, Japan. He made his debut with the 12-inch “Ship-Scope” (2001) released on Chain Reaction, a sub label of Basic Channel, a 90s cult label leading to dub techno and then the “minimal” trend of the 00s. A decade later, in early 2010s, he released his first full-length album, “Butterfly Effect” (2014) on DDS label by lobbying of Manchester duo Demdike Stare. Since then, he has consistently released “World” (2016), “From The Heart, It's a Start, a Work of Art” (2017), “Heat” (2018), “Yes” (2020), “Love of Plastic” (2022), “Discipline” and the EP ‘Ongaku 1’ (2024). He has garnered a large number of music listeners as well as club audiences and has received acclaim from various music media. Although his debut on the legendary Chain Reaction and his releases on DDS have brought him to the attention of the world, he has remained an enigmatic and rare entity.
